Cory Bussart

Staff Sergeant Cory Bussart was born in Houston, Texas. He joined the Army in August of 2005 and attended Base Training at Fort Benning, Georgia and Advanced Individual Traning at Fort Gordon, Ga to be a Signal Support Systems Specialist.

During his career, Staff Sergeant Bussart served as a Communication Platoon Sergeant, Section Leader, Squad Leader, Battalion Communications NCOIC and a Recruiter. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009-2010 and 2012.

Staff Sergeant Bussart has been assigned to the following units: 1st Battalion 44th Air Defense Artillery in Fort Bliss, Texas, 98th Maintenance Company and Head Quarters US Army Alaska in Fort Richardson, Alaska, 1st Squadron 4th Cavalry Regiment in Fort Riley, Kansas, 1st Battalion 321st Field Artillery Regiment in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and is currently assigned as the Assistance Center Leader in the Klein Army Recruiting Center in Houston, Texas.

Staff Sergeant Bussart’s military and civilian education includes the US Army Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Senior Leaders Course, Army Recruiting Course, Center Leaders Course, Army Combat Lifesavers Course, Signal Digital Master Gunners Course and has completed 81 credit hours with Columbia Southern University and is pursuing a degree in Business with a concentration in Project Management.

Staff Sergeant Bussart awards and decorations include the Bronze Order of Mercury, Army Recruiter Badge, Meritorious Unit Award, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3rd Star), Global War on Terrorism Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (#3), Army Service Medal, Over Seas Ribbon (#3), and NATO Medal.

Staff Sergeant Bussart currently resides in Houston, Texas with his wife, son Cayden, and daughter Alexyss.
